Watching Vintage Star Wars Toys Get Made Is Strangely Cathartic

Video: I mean, it’s not like there’s anything particularly stressful going on in the world right now or anything, but sometimes, you just want to watch people putting legs on plastic AT-AT walkers for a few minutes, no?

Filmumentaries — AKA documentarian Jamie Benning, who recently also gave us rare footage of Chewbacca’s English lines on the Empire Strikes Back set — posted this short clip of rare footage from inside Kenner and Palitoy’s manufacturing facilities in the UK, featuring lines of workers putting together some of the most iconic toys in history together.

It’s short, but a fascinating part of that “How the sausage is made” sort of intrigue, isn’t it? Star Wars toys have a long, storied history, but there’s always something fascinating about watching them being built and packaged.
