If your love of Star Wars transcends all holiday traditions, then from this day forth Christmas just won’t feel like Christmas unless the star atop your festive tree is actually the Death Star, ominously glowing and flashing like it’s ready to shoot down some mistletoe.
Its $US100 ($133) price tag will test the limits of some Star Wars fans’ devotion to the franchise, but there are lots of good reasons to upgrade your holidays, and festive decor, with this alternative tree topper.
Using an included wireless remote the Death Star can be set to glow either red or blue, presumably so you can let Santa know what side of the political debate you support. But the remote also lets you trigger classic holiday songs like John Williams’ Star Wars Main Theme, or the ominous Imperial March, which is still more enjoyable to sing along with than White Christmas.
