In just a few short weeks, it will be the two-year anniversary of “#FriendsInNewPlaces,” Garth Brooks’ first Facebook video. To most, this milestone will likely pass by unnoticed, but those who know better will bow their heads in silence, remembering the day the pop country legend’s sacred knowledge was first passed down.
“I really wasn’t sure about this at the start, but then a friend said something that made all kinds of sense,” said the prophet Brooks, in many ways telling the universal story of going online. “She said, ‘Think of it more as a conversation.’ I like that.”
“When I think of things I wanna post, I wanna post cool stuff, slick stuff, neat stuff,” he continued. “But most of the stuff I’m gonna post is gonna be raw stuff like this. ‘Cause it’s just who I am.”
“So if this is truly a conversation,” Brooks concluded, “I say, ‘Let the conversation begin!’”
