It’s times like these I wish I could watch Canadian television.

Discovery Canada’s latest original show, Frontier, debuts Sunday ahead of its Netflix premiere “sometime” in 2017, and dammit Canada gets all the luck. This thing looks cool. Set in the late 1700s, it’s an historical drama that somehow manages to make the Canadian fur trade look exciting. Mostly because they Game of Thrones the shit out of it. It’s a Game of Furs… with fancy wigs.

According to the plot description, Frontier is a six-episode drama showing the fur trade as a sort of “ruthless turf war,” where the English, French, and First Nations are all vying to seize the Furry Throne. Then you’ve got the “Black Wolf” rebel force mucking things up, led by none other than Game of Thrones alum Jason Momoa himself.

Momoa has well established himself as a talented actor and overall super-awesome dude, and Frontier looks like no exception. His performance actually makes me excited to see him as Aquaman in The Justice League. Of course, that’s also assisted by how chill he is during just about every single interview. In a recent chat with ET Canada, Momoa talked about when director Zack Snyder first approached him about Justice League four or five years ago. Momoa first thought he was going to play Lobo or another baddie, but then Snyder proved him wrong.

“He said, ‘Aquaman.’ And I was like, ‘Come again? Pardon me?’ And then he explained why, and I was like, ‘Whoa buddy, I’ve got your back,’” Momoa said.

Momoa doesn’t make his Justice League debut until November 17, 2017, but until then, you can enjoy him wield a hatchet against some random dude’s face for the glory of all thing fur. That is, if you’re north of the US border (dammit Canada). Frontier debuts Sunday on Discovery Canada, and has already been renewed for a second season.
