UberEATS Launches Today Across The Rest Of Australia

Following a launch in Melbourne in April and Sydney in August, UberEATS is finally making its way to the other areas of Australia already well-served by Uber ridesharing. Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth. It’s no surprise to hear that Uber is pushing all the way around Australia, too — Melbourne is one of the most popular cities for UberEATS in the world, and a particular Greek wrap from George Calombaris’ Jimmy Grants is the world’s most popular UberEATS delivery.

Melbourne joins Toronto, London, Los Angeles and San Francisco in the list of the top five most popular locations for UberEATS around the planet, and the Jimmy Grants greek wrap has been ordered more than any other home-delivery, restaurant-cooked snack.

The rollout to Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth means that thousands of different restaurants across Australia now deliver to customers through the UberEATS service, including some high-profile up-and-comers like pasta bar Osteria Oggi in Adelaide and Butter in Sydney. Australia also has the most highly awarded restaurants on UberEATS of any country, with eight ‘hats’ nationwide — although three of those are for Brisbane’s Esquire.

Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth all open their doors to UberEATS today. Yes, Canberra and Hobart (and Darwin, hi Darwin) are still out of the picture for Uber and/or UberEATS, but maybe that’ll change in the coming months.
