More Teases For The Antagonists Of Spider-Man: Homecoming

Don’t expect Supergirl‘s Gotham Easter egg to lead to Batman’s arrival on the show. A Luke Cage star is circling Alita: Battle Angel. Doctor Strange shows off its humorous side in new footage. The first set pictures from Punisher filming are here. Plus, new looks at Moana and Channel Zero. To me, my spoilers!

More Teases For The Antagonists Of Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Schmoes Know has a new report on the “villains” of the film — in quotes, because the report discusses how the film will have three primary antagonists for Peter Parker: Actual villains The Vulture and Shocker, and then a third “villain” that is “a non-superpowered character who butts head with Peter in his everyday life”.

While that’s not necessarily an actually villainous role, the character is potentially someone who begins dating Aunt May in the film that Peter doesn’t approve of (in the comics, she’s currently married to J. Jonah Jameson Sr., the father of the infamous Daily Bugle editor), leading to an antagonistic relationship a little different to the ones he faces while in his spider-spandex.

The report concludes with a tease that a major character from the Spider-Man mythos is introduced in the film, and will have larger roles in future Spidey movies — but their identity is currently unknown, so start your guesses now.

Executive producer Ali Adler brushes off the idea that the recent Gotham mention in the show’s trailers is a hint for the Dark Knight showing up on the series in the near future:

I feel like we have our hands full with the crossover we’re shooting right now. I think people will be satisfied with how much crossover they’re getting this season. We have this beautiful history with DC, and I like that we get to borrow from this amazing, wonderful canon that we have.
