Meet Sony’s $50 PS4 Universal Remote Control

Here it is: the officially licensed Universal Media Remote for PS4, designed to control entertainment apps and the console’s Blu-Ray player. The remote uses Bluetooth and can also be setup to control up to three additional devices — including a TV and audio receiver.

A bunch of streaming apps are now on PS4, too — including ABC iview and SBS on Demand, with with Channel 9 service 9Now “coming soon”. There’s also PlayStation Video on the PlayStation Store where you can rent or buy movies and TV series, like Deadpool and Game of Thrones. The remote will also control Netflix, Stan, Presto, QuickFlix, AnimeLab and YouTube.

It has all of the buttons. There’s normal remote control buttons for menus and apps, but there’s also the classic”Action buttons” (triangle, circle, cross, and square), Share, Options, and PlayStation buttons.
