Dropping An iPhone Off The World’s Tallest Building Is As Crazy As It Sounds

Video: By now you’ve likely heard of TechRax, the YouTuber whose shtick consists of buying expensive gizmos and destroying them for views. It’s obnoxious. It’s repetitive. And it’s gotten him over five million subscribers.

His latest video, however, sees Rax at the top of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. He proposes to throw a brand new iPhone 7 Plus from the top. And then appears to do exactly that.

I don’t remember enough about high school physics to precisely calculate the terminal velocity of an iPhone falling 823m, but it’s something in the neighbourhood of you could have killed someone. From that height it almost certainly could have busted a car windshield, smashed windows in nearby buildings or caused grievous injury to a pedestrian below. What an absolute shitheel.

Of course there’s the possibility that this video is fake, and like so many others on YouTube, falls under the It’s Just a Prank, Bro© licence. In which case, this guy flew halfway around the world to dupe five million people.
