Brazzers Porn Site Forum Hack Lead To 80,000 Accounts Exposed

Hackers have penetrated the online forum of popular pornographic website Brazzers, stealing the personal data of 790,724 users. The stolen data, which included email addresses, usernames and passwords have since been released. Here’s what you need to know.

This post originally appeared on Lifehacker.

Motherboard first reported on the breach after after Vigilante.pw provided it with the data, which has since been verified by Troy Hunt, security researcher and creator of Have I Been Pwned?

Some Brazzers users who have never access the forum site before have had their details exposed as well because the two websites shared account information. Brazzers has said the breach, which occurred in 2012, was a result of vulnerabilities in the third-party vBulletin software. There has been a string of breaches that have been traced back to vBulletin security bugs, including one on The Secret World forums.

The Brazzers forum hack is concerning for a number of reasons, namely that it’s linked to a porn site, so the comments made on the forum could be particularly sensitive.

If you’re a Brazzers user, head over to Have I Been Pwned? to check if your details have been exposed. Also, why are you still paying for porn when you can get it free at sites like PornHub and RedTube? No, really, I’d like to know so please leave a comment.
