The First Tantalisingly Mysterious Images From Next Season Of Black Mirror

Black Mirror is the kind of show you want to watch knowing almost nothing about. The first images from the third season are perfect in that regard, because they give only a tiny hint at what’s to come — just enough to make you want more.

The third season of Charlie Brooker’s genius show will debut on Netflix on October 21. Until then, the first two episodes will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. They’re titled “San Junipero”, directed by Owen Harris, and “Nosedive”, directed by Joe Wright.

Here are images from “San Junipero”, which stars Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Jupiter Ascending).

So we can tell that this is a period episode. One girl is presumably kind of nerdy, the other is likely more fashionable and outgoing. Beyond that, nothing.

Next is “Nosedive”, which stars Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World) and Alice Eve (Star Trek: Into Darkness).

So people use their phones? And they wear pastels? Well, as least we know the episode was written by Michael Schur and Rashida Jones, both of Parks and Recreation.

I can’t wait to get back into this crazy series come October.
