Deadpool 2
According to the Meet the Movie Press podcast, Mashable’s Jeff Sneider claims that Kyle Chandler could be playing Cable in the sequel — although he does expressly state to take that with a pinch of salt. Sneider also added Mackenzie Davis is being lined up to play mutant mercenary Domino in the film, who he describes as a “scene stealer” in the movie.
Masters of the Universe
McG offers IGN an update on the film:
It’s a very exciting moment for Masters of the Universe. We have a big meeting with Sony regarding prep of the movie on Wednesday. And we’re in the middle of a bit of a script polish, and it’s my absolute passion. I’m laser-focused on that being my next film. But I mean, you know how it works in contemporary filmmaking. You really, really have to earn the good will of the parent studio, and Tom Rothman runs a tight ship at Sony, and we’re going to get there. I’m so happy to report that to the fans.
Asked for details about his approach to the franchise, he answered:
I think we want to honour the fan base, first and foremost. We also need to be cognisant of the incredible resonance of what Kevin Feige is doing with Marvel, and the balance of full-bodied entertainment. That it’s both credible and emotional, action-packed, and the story of a hero’s journey. It’s the genesis of He-Man, it’s the becoming of He-Man. We want it to be clicking on all cylinders in that regard. We’re not going to stop until we get it right. Listen, I love that movie with Frank [Langella] and Dolph [Lundgren]. I watch it, and it’s a tremendous pleasure for me to watch. I’m raised on the toys, and I’m down at Mattel all the time. We’re just really focused on getting it right. I want it to be full-bodied entertainment that respects the fan base, and is more emotional than you might imagine, inventive and original. Obviously, we’re all cognisant of what’s going on with Game of Thrones. It’s incredible. We’re cognisant of what’s going on in Guardians of the Galaxy. James Gunn’s doing a great job. We’re going to try to answer the call and take it higher.
Shazam
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s manager Dany Garcia says the film is still connected to wider DC Extended Universe, but is not restricted by either the tone of movies like Batman v Superman or Suicide Squad, or their tepid critical responses:
Shazam! is to live in the same world [as the other films] but we have incredible autonomy over this brand and franchise. We are working with a different team, different producers, directors… it’s a different set-up… We don’t feel fettered by, or constrained by, the successes or failures and challenges of the other projects. That was a key component to our participation — that we be able to control the tone and the voice, and do it the way we want to.
She also offered an update on the film’s progress:
We’re getting [script] drafts in… it’s important to make sure we get the tone right for Black Adam, which is Dwayne’s part… We don’t mind taking our time. We’re being very careful with each act and scene to go back and layer in as much as possible.

Doctor Strange
Tilda Swinton hypes up the film’s far-out nature:
My home is in experimental cinema. I’ve always worked with people who are messing with stuff. Marvel is going to pull some shit out no one’s ever seen before.
While director Scott Derrickson talks about Kaecillus’ morality in the film:
I wouldn’t call him a villain, and Mads [Mikkelsen] won’t call him a villain. He has a very compelling point of view that Doctor Strange is confronted with in the movie. That, to me, is what makes a good opponent for the hero of a story.

I think a great analogy is actually Stranger Things, and we’re seeing it on Netflix right now. It’s very much an homage to ’80s movies, whether it’s classic Stephen King or even Spielberg. She is absolutely a very unlikely heroine. She’s someone on the edges and fringes of society. Physically, she’s smaller than everyone else around her, but… when someone has something they believe in, that’s what powers them, that’s what motivates them, that’s what can give someone enormous strength.

Jed Whedon says the show will be tweaking Robbie Reyes’ origins as Ghost Rider:
We can’t say much about what we’re going to do with [Robbie Reyes’] origin, but we are doing our own spin on it. We don’t want people who have read the comics to know exactly what’s coming.

Sean Maguire has joined the cast as Bond writer Ian Fleming. He’ll appear in the fourth episode of the first season, where the cast meets Fleming in his pre-writing career as an undercover British agent working behind German lines in the Second World War. [EW]

Colin Donnell, who played Tommy Merlyn in the show’s first season, hints there’s a possibility that Barry Allen’s mucking up of the timeline could lead to him making a return to the show again:
I can’t tell you how many people I’ve talked to about the possibility and how it could possibly happen. It’s not out of the realm of possibility.
Don’t take it as a given though, considering it seems like nothing more than conversations have been had at this point. [TV Line]
Constantine
The CW currently has “no plans” for the character to return to any one of its current DC shows. Speaking at the channel’s TCA panel late last week, Greg Berlanti says that his future is still being discussed, however:
We haven’t had any conversations with them about Constantine. Constantine exists in a certain place in the DC world and universe, they’re kind of internally examining what they want to do with that character next.

Gotham
Finally young Bruce Wayne himself, David Mazouz, wants kid Clark Kent on the show, expanding Gotham‘s wonderfully silly cannibalisation of the DC Comics world into Superman’s mythos too:
I think it’d be really cool to have a young Clark Kent on the show. To have a 15-year-old Clark Kent. I know in Batman v Superman they played it like Metropolis and Gotham are twin cities, so it wouldn’t be that hard to take a boat ride over for Clark.
Going back to the Superman, you know, Clark Kent as a teenager saves a busload of kids from drowning, right? It would just be really cool to just start a scene in the GCPD and just pan, like start on a newspaper that says, 15-year-old boy in Metropolis saves busload of kids from drowning. And then just pan up and have a regular scene that has nothing to do with the… throw a little hint.
