Video: We were fans of M.R. Carey's apocalyptic novel The Girl With All the Gifts when it came out in 2014, but avoided giving too much away about the plot. The UK trailer for Colm McCarthy's film adaptation, however, doesn't hold anything back. It's zombies, guys. ZOMBIES. Glenn Close plays the mysterious doctor at an isolated British army base, Gemma Arterton plays the kindly teacher who tends to a group of children who are being held there for some reason (the reason is probably zombies) and 12-year-old newcomer Sennia Nanua plays the gifted lead character. Carey penned the script from his own novel. There's no release date yet, but The Girl With All the Gifts looks unlike any zombie movie we've ever seen — and if it's half as good as the book, it will be a genre standout for sure.
