More Details About A Returning Character In Rogue One

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Entertainment Weekly‘s rolling coverage of the film continues, now with details on Vader’s (finally confirmed) involvement in the film. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given his recent re-involvement with the role in Star Wars Rebels, James Earl Jones will once again lend his voice to the character.

Most interestingly, the report goes against prior rumours, saying that Vader’s role in the film is a minor one, but important — especially as Vader and Ben Mendelsohn’s character, Director Krennic, will have an antagonistic relationship due to Vader’s power beyond the Imperial hierarchy.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

The world continues to be cast in Spider-Man: Homecoming, with the latest being Bokeem Woodbine. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the role is (unsurprisingly!) undisclosed, but could be for a villain.

Batman: The Killing Joke

Kevin Conroy teases Batman’s laugh — the iconic scene in which he and Joker break down into laughter in the graphic novel — in a new behind-the-scenes interview with DC All Access.

The Walking Dead

Perpetual hype man Norman Reedus continues to tease the show’s take on Negan bashing one of the principal cast’s head in, this time to Conan O’Brien:

I’ll say that. And it’s like one of those things you ask for it you’re going to get it. And, you know, it might be rougher than you were expecting. It’s hard core.

Legends of Tomorrow

Maisie Richardson-Sellers has joined the show’s regular cast as the new version of Vixen. Unlike the character played by Megalyn Echikunwoke on Arrow and the CW Seed cartoon, Richardson-Sellers will play Amaya Jiwe, grandmother of the current Vixen, Mari McCabe. [Comicbook.com]

The Mist

Frances Conroy has joined the TV adaption of the Stephen King novella. She’ll play Nathalie, a “modern-day ecological martyr” with a cold relationship to the people around her. [Coming Soon]

Lucifer

Aimee Garcia has joined the show in a regular role for its second season. Garcia will play Ella Lopez, a forensic scientist working for the police whose strong belief in both science and faith draws Lucifer’s attention. [THR]

Scream Queens

Taylor Lautner will star in the show’s second season as Cassidy Cascade, a doctor with a “strange medical condition” that quickly becomes a suspect as things begin going awry at the hospital the show will primarily be set in.[TV Line]

Gotham

James Campinello has joined the cast as Mario Falcone, son of mob boss Carmine Falcone, the black sheep of the family who turns his back on the family’s criminal ways to become a doctor. [TV Line]

Doctor Who

The BBC has released a new image and behind-the-scenes video to celebrate the start of season 10 filming.

Arrow

Finally, speaking in a recent live Facebook chat, Stephen Amell says that the season five premiere has the opportunity “to have the most vicious, violent one-shot in the history of network television”. He continued:

If [the premiere] is any indication, Arrow is going to be fucking mean this year, and that’s really exciting.

Amell also teased a “slightly modified version” of the Arrow costume, plus an appearance by “someone that we haven’t seen in two full seasons. So there’s that.” [TV Line]
