I can’t say with absolute certainty that a Red Dwarf LEGO set is something I’d purchase, but, that doesn’t mean I don’t want it to exist. I do. Very much so. And with a little help, it could become a reality.
A fellow by the handle of “Legobob32” went to the trouble of putting a prototype set together and posting it up on LEGO’s Ideas website. It’s only been there for a few days (and still has almost 200 to go), but it’s already amassed a healthy number of supporters.
The set, if it ever comes to fruition, would feature the familiar bedroom scene, complete with minifigs of the cast including Kryten, Rimmer, Cat and Lister. Just for kicks, Legobob32 also threw in alter egos Ace Rimmer and Daune Dibbley.
It’d also come with a rendition of the Blue Midget — itself worth the non-existent price of entry alone.
While there is still the better part of a year for people to vote on the project, I’m not sure it’ll acquire the 10,000 necessary to pique LEGO’s interest. Still, it can’t hurt to try.
