Here’s All The Insane PC Case Mods From Computex

Given that Computex is basically a haven for PC tech and enthusiasts, it goes without saying that there are a ton of insane PC mods. I’ve already shown you the fairy floss mod that MSI was showing off at their booth, but that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Computex is spread out over multiple venues. There’s also plenty of vendors who opt to only hire one of the many, many suites at the Grand Hyatt rather than getting their own booth at the expo hall in Nangang or the Taiwan International Convention Center.

That’s a lot of room for an awful lot of case mods — and there was plenty of top work on display. There was also a few dodgy cases, although for today I’m largely focusing on the best ones I saw.

I thought this was a really classy way to show off R2-D2, but the booth itself was easy to miss. A shame, really.

You’ve seen the fairy floss mod from MSI’s booth, but adjacent to that was a neat little retro machine. I only ever saw Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike running, though.

Very nice use of wood, this.

Good way to show off your fans.

There’s some impressive work using Thermaltake’s open-frame cases. Their booth was pretty impressive for case mods.

One of the cooler mashups with the world of comics. There was a Captain America themed keyboard as well, although the case looked better.

Simple, but powerful.

This case looks eye-catching a first, but if you look closely you’ll see it’s actually a horrible botch job. It was comfortably the worst “case mod” I saw at all of Computex. The lettering looks like it was cut out with a dodgy knife and the fans have been scraped to all buggery. I’m surprised it was on display at all, given the marks and scratches alone.

Fun story: I first saw this case at a evening party on the Monday. It looked nice, so I gently touched it to see what the material was made out of. It was only the faintest of touches, but it was enough for the top jaw to disconnect and fall to the floor.

Fortunately CORSAIR were able to fix it up without too much difficulty, as I discovered the following day in their booth. Phew.

Did you see any other great case mods from Computex? Let us know in the comments!
