People Google themselves. I do it, you do it, and if you say you don’t you’re a lying liar. Sometimes, just to make sure your internet persona is kept squeaky clean, it can even be a good idea. So, it makes sense that Google is taking advantage of our own self-interest by creating a shortcut to your accounts page when you Google yourself.
The new searching powers come on the one-year anniversary of Google introducing the “My Accounts” feature, which is an indispensable tool for gadget nerds who have Google accounts logged into a zillion different devices (seriously, I have more than a dozen).
Aside from Google’s new handy search shortcuts, they have also created a simple tool for locating your iOS and Android phones when logged into a Google account. You can lock, call, sign out of and erase the phone if you need to go with the nuclear option. You can also reach out to your carrier or local help as well. Hopefully this will cut down on the dangerous business of people hunting for stolen phones.
