Everything You Need To Know About E3 So Far

E3 is intense. It is a veritable tsunami of video game news. If you need to take a breather and catch-up on everything you might have missed? This is the place. This is everything you need to know about E3 so far.

Nintendo

In a sense we’d been pre-warned. Nintendo’s presence at E3 would be dramatically reduced. Mostly because Nintendo’s focus is the NX, and they’ve chosen not to reveal the NX at E3 this year. Fair enough.

But the end result, for us, is simple: we get Zelda, we get a bit of Pokemon, and that’s pretty much it. It’s probably a good thing, then, that the new Zelda, titled The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, looks absurdly fantastic.

This game could really be something special.

Our First Look At The New Zelda, Breath Of The Wild
This is probably where you should start. An extensive look at everything we know about the new Zelda so far.

We’re Liveblogging This Nintendo Thing
I woke up to watch the reveal! It was a lot of fun.

Watch Nintendo’s E3 Presentation Here!
You might be able to find the original reveal here, but I recommend just watching Nintendo Treehouse. They’re playing Zelda and probably will be playing Zelda all day.

Sony

Sony had a really strong showing at E3 in my opinion. Its conference was lean, mean and packed full of games we were already excited about, and a host of new, great looking stuff — including a complete reboot of God of War.

At E3, Sony Knocked It Out Of The Ballpark
My initial thoughts on Sony’s showing.

The New God Of War Turns To Snow And Norse Mythology
God of War, featuring Dad Kratos and surprisingly touching scene with his son. Also: it’s set in a completely new universe

Detroit: Become Human Is Intense And Full Of Androids
As soon as the dialogue sucked, I knew this was a David Cage game. In a good way.

Hideo Kojima’s Next Game Is Death Stranding, Starring Norman Reedus
Super strange. Strange enough to feel like a truly weird creative endeavour. This game won’t be out for years.

The New Call Of Duty Was Ridiculously Impressive
Completely shocked at how good this looked to be honest

Final Fantasy XV Will Support PlayStation VR
To be honest this looked a bit mental and I didn’t understand what was going on.

Rocksteady’s Doing A Batman VR Game
A Rocksteady Batman VR game. Count me in.

Microsoft

Microsoft’s E3 showing was a little light on new games, particularly exclusive games, but Project Scorpio could very well be a game changer.

Microsoft’s E3 Conference Was All New Consoles And Old Video Games
My thoughts on Microsoft’s showing at E3.

Microsoft Announces Project Scorpio, ‘The Most Powerful Console Ever’
This new ‘half-generation’ console thing is really going to shape things up.

The Witcher Getting Standalone Card Game Spin-Off
Sure, why not. People love Gwent.

Rare’s Pirate Co-Op Game Sea Of Thieves Looks Dope
I felt as though this was the highlight of Microsoft’s showing. An original, off-kilter, light-hearted video game about being a pirate.

Forza Horizon 3 Heads To Australia
It’s set exclusively in Australia! This was some wild shit.

ReCore Shows Off Gameplay Footage, Dog Robots
I still think this has the potential to be one of Microsoft’s strongest exlusives.

Scalebound Looks Crazy, Features Giant Enemy Crab
Scalebound looks like a game I will get into in a very big way.

Look Who Showed Up In Gears Of War 4
Gears of War looked a lot better this year.
