The Garmin Vivomove Australian Release And Pricing

On a basic level, Garmin’s vivomove is an analog watch with activity tracking features. But look a little deeper and you’ll find a multitude of features that mean you won’t want to take it off your wrist.

As expected, it will monitor your steps and sleep, along with giving you a reminder if you’ve been inactive for too long. The vivomove also boasts a one-year battery life, water resistance and a variety of interchangeable bands.

“The style-focused vivomove is an exciting addition to Garmin’s wide-ranging line of activity trackers, making it easier than ever to stay fashionable and active,” says Adam Howarth, General Manager Garmin Australasia. “Whether you’re heading into the boardroom or walking into a sports game, vivomove has you and your steps covered.”

The vivomove comes in three models — the sleek vivomove sport, vivomove classic with leather straps, and the more upscale vivomove premium with leather straps and full steel body. With interchangeable leather and silicone strap options and a variety of fashionable case finishes including black, white, rose gold-tone, stainless steel, and gold-tone, the vivomove is fully customisable.

It’s swim and shower safe with a water rating of 5 ATM — meaning it can withstand pressures equivalent to a depth of 50 meters.

The watch face features two bars that lets you to view step progress and inactivity at a glance. The bar on the left side of the face shows the progress towards your personalised daily step goal. The red bar on the right side of the watch face reminds you you’ve been inactive too long, filling half way after one hour of inactivity and building with every 15 minutes after that until it’s reset by walking for a couple of minutes.

The vivomove also tracks how well users slept by monitoring movement and restlessness.

Throughout the day, the vivomove automatically syncs with the Garmin Connect Mobile app, a free online fitness and golf community where you can track workouts, sleep patterns and trends, join online challenges to compete against friends and earn virtual badges.

You can also view Garmin Connect Insights, with personalised tips to help you reach goals, shout-outs when milestones have been met and relevant healthy tips from experts. Insights also show you how you are doing in comparison to people like you for extra motivation.

Beginning shipping in May, the vivomove will be available in sport (black or white) for a recommended retail price of $249.00, classic (black with leather band or rose gold-tone with leather band) for $329.00, and premium (stainless steel with leather band or gold-tone steel with leather band) for $479.00.
