Don’t Forget, Tell Your Friends: Enrolment To Vote Closes Today

There’s a federal election just around the corner (2 July) and if you are over 18 and eligible, by law you have to vote. And if you’ve never voted before, you’ll need to enrol.

The deadline to enrol or update your details is 8pm today, so get to it now!

You can enrol online, and will need to provide identification to prove who you are — a driver’s licence, Australian passport number, or have homeone who is enrolled confirm your identity. You can’t use an 18+ or Proof of Age card.

To be eligible to vote you need to be an Australian citizen or eligible British subject and have lived at your address for at least one month.

You can also get in early and enrol if you are 16 or 17, all ready to vote when you turn 18.

If you are going to be overseas during the election, you’ll need to use this form.

If you’re wondering why it’s so important to vote, here’s a reminder from friendlyjordies.
