Suicide Squad Spinoffs

Sources speaking to We’ve Got This Covered claim that Warner Bros. are considering more spinoffs from the film in the wake of the news about Harley Quinn getting her own female-hero-focused teamup film.

According to the site, confidence in Suicide Squad as a franchise is potentially considering separate movies focusing on Captain Boomerang (which seems like the least likely) and the Joker (which would be unsurprising), but take these reports with a side of scepticism for now.

Spider-Man Homecoming

Chris Evans tells MTV that he’d be interested in making a cameo appearance in the movie — something he’s been rumoured to be connected to for a while alongside Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, who was recently confirmed to have joined the film.

Big Trouble in Little China

According to Dwayne Johnson, the remake is still happening.

That’s happening, man! That’s happening, that’s happening. And again, that’s one of those things where you gotta take really good care of it.

X-Men: Apocalypse:

Mystique tries to tell the young mutants that she’s no hero in a new clip.

Limitless

Sad news — the show has been cancelled after CBS failed to find another platform or network to sell the series to.

Mirror’s Edge

Video game publisher EA has sold the rights to its future-dystopian parkour game franchise Mirror’s Edge to Endemol, who have plans to turn the series’ premise of rebellious free-runners fighting against corrupt leadership in a technologically advanced city into a TV show. [Deadline]

The Flash/Legends of Tomorrow

Actor John Wesley Shipp tells Variety that his revelation as the real Jay Garrick of Earth-3 in the Flash finale will actually lead to his involvement playing Jay as a member of the Justice Society in Legends of Tomorrow season two:

For me, personally, as an actor, Henry Allen was rather closed-ended, he was there for a purpose, he served his purpose, it was time for him to die. The fact that I’m now getting to morph into an entirely different character that is so important to the Justice Society of America, which also bleeds into Legends of Tomorrow, he’s such an important character to this whole world — it just opens up enormous possibilities for me as an actor going forward, and the challenge for me, having played Henry, is that I now get to create an entirely different character going forward. And how that affects Barry — because Barry’s going to want to lean on this guy who looks just like his father but is not his father — that can create a whole bunch of psychological conflict too. I’m as excited as you are to see how all of this will play out.

Doctor Who

Steven Moffat has “no idea” if the woman seen in the last season finale “Hell Bent” is the Doctor’s mother:

We’ve no idea who she is, nor should we. But a quick glance at the evidence, would remind you that the Doctor is a ‘high born Gallifreyan’ so that would seem unlikely. So what was he doing in that barn, and who were those people? The Doctor won’t tell me. It’s almost like that nameless wanderer in time and space likes a bit of mystery…

Oh, it’s funny, writing stuff about the Doctor’s past. You always have to leave options — you can’t be definitive. Or at least that’s how I feel about it. I like the audience to have a choice. If, in Listen, you’re happy that the little boy in the bed is the Doctor, then great. But if you’re not, that’s fine too. I keep saying, Head Canon is important, because that’s where the show really happens: in the hearts and minds of all the people watching.

Dirk Gently

Neil Brown, Jr., Richard Schiff and Fiona Dourif have joined the cast as production begins. Brown Jr. will play a character called Estevez, Schiff will play a “missing person’s detective operating increasingly off book” named Zimmerfield and Dourif will play Bart Curlish, the “nearly invincible self-identified ‘Holistic Assassin’”. Game of Thrones

Finally, a gallery of images from “Blood of my Blood” has been released. Head on over to the link to see more. [Coming Soon]
