Bryan Singer reveals a disappointing secret from X-Men Apocalypse. The Walking Dead begins casting a big character from the comics. Another actor has already met with James Bond producers about the role. Plus, new pictures from the set of Power Rangers and more footage from Independence Day: Resurgence. Spoilers now!
X-Men
Although the films have firmly moved on into a new generation of X-Men, Director Bryan Singer is hopeful that he can return to the cast of the original X-Men trilogy at least one more time to better end their story.
I hope so. The night we had a little screening for the cast, I went and saw Patrick Stewart’s wife sing at a local venue with Ian McKellen. The two of us were sitting there watching Patrick’s lovely wife sing — she has a great voice — and I was thinking, yeah, at some point it would be lovely to see them all again. They’re all great actors and great people, and I had great experiences with them. I’d love to see that happen — it’s just you have to figure it out. How do you do that? You can’t do it for the sake of doing it — you have to do it right. Or else it’s just one of those cobbled-together things.
I like finishing things. I like finishing this particular iteration. I know X-Men 3 was quite rushed and I didn’t complete it, and I felt a little like it was probably my responsibility to do that as a filmmaker, and I didn’t.

X-Men: Apocalypse
Woefully, Jubilee does not use her powers in the film, but she does in a deleted scene on the home release, according to Singer:
We do have a moment where Jubilee uses her powers that you’ll see on the DVD. I wanted more Jubilee.

James Bond
According to Deadline, actor Jamie Bell has met with producer Barbara Broccoli about taking on the role after Daniel Craig leaves the franchise — whenever that actually is. The site notes that plans for the next Bond film are still in their earliest stages however, with no script or creative talent decided on yet.
The God Particle
Chris O’Dowd has joined the cast of the film in an undisclosed role — but it’s apparently the role John Krasinski was previously cast for, as the actor has departed the project. [The Hollywood Reporter]
Power Rangers
New set pictures of the Red Ranger in action have made their way online. The ranger, clad in his full suit, is battling mocap actors that are presumably playing all-CGI versions of the show’s original henchmen, the Putty Patrollers.

The Walking Dead
Norman Reedus undersells the return of the show to Entertainment Weekly:
Trust me. I think probably the planet is going to explode. That’s my feeling. It’s so good.
Every time we go on a promotional tour talking about what’s going to come, we all say ‘Oh my God, it’s amazing. I can’t wait for you to see it.’ But it continually surprises me how this show grows and is put together and the execution of it — no pun intended. It blows my mind. It just continually reaches a new plateau every single time, and this is the highest plateau we’ve ever been. So just wait. It’s worth the wait, trust me.
Meanwhile fan forum Spoil the Dead claims to have a casting call for what is most likely going to be comic book character Ezekiel. In the comics, Ezekiel ruled the Kingdom, a group of survivors that Rick and the Alexandrians eventually team up with in the war against Negan. Here’s the character description on the casting call:
African American, 40s. An eccentric, charismatic, and kind leader. He projects a regal air of confidence and wisdom to his people, and he enjoys the respect they give him because of it. To an outsider, his deliberate dress and mannerisms might seem theatrical, and to a degree, they are…
