Check Out This Incredible Bond-Inspired Credit Sequence For The Empire Strikes Back

The opening crawl that opens up every Star Wars film is one of cinema’s most iconic moments, and will never change, but what happens when you take the stylings of a James Bond film and give it a try? Magic.

Kurt Rauffer did just that with his short homage to both franchises as part of his student thesis at New York’s School for Visual Arts. He used the film’s rejected song from Radiohead, Spectre, and the result works really, really well:

It’s tonally really different from what you’d expect in the Star Wars universe, but the mix of the song and the animation just flat out work. It’s a beautiful sequence.

Rauffer noted that he’ll have a making of coming soon, but hopefully, he’ll tackle some of the other films – I’d love to see his take on The Force Awakens.
