Budget Telco Vaya Introduces A Price Beat Guarantee

Vaya has “thrown down the gauntlet” to other Aussie telecommunications providers, launching a unique Price Beat Guarantee that will see it not only price match any other telco’s comparable 4G non-promotional offer, but also provide the next month for free.

The budget telco was recently acquired by Amaysim, and this deal signifies its first big move in the industry since it made a commitment to improve communications after ACCC concerns about “misleading” fees were raised.

If you can find a cheaper plan in the market that has the same voice, text and data inclusions, Vaya will match the lower price for the entire time you are a Vaya customer, as well as give you the next month free — and Vaya won’t make you sign a lock-in contract.

According to Vaya Marketing Manager, Jennifer Snell, it’s just the first step in a mission to challenge the major telcos and put the power back in the hands of consumers when it comes to choosing mobile phone plans in Australia.

“Other markets have used price beat guarantees with great success, and it’s something that’s sorely missing in the mobile telco space. As a value-driven mobile service provider, we know that our mobile plans already offer incredible value, and this Price Beat Guarantee gives our customers that additional assurance that if another telco comes out with an even cheaper plan with the same inclusions down the line, all they have to do is give us a call and we’ll beat it.”

“We’re actually taking price beat guarantees to the next level. While this sort of initiative in other markets only applies at the time of purchase — which means you need to do all of your research beforehand — Vaya’s Price Beat Guarantee continues to apply for every month you’re a customer,” she said.

It’s a major move for an Australian MVNO, encouraging consumers to consider whether their current mobile service provider is doing enough to keep their business.

“We’ve noticed that a lot of mobile service providers out there save their best promotional offers for new customers only, and we don’t think that’s fair to existing customers,” said Snell.

“At Vaya, we think it’s just as important to reward the loyalty of our current subscriber base, which is why our new Price Beat Guarantee is available to everyone. Once you’re a Vaya customer, you will still have access to the best prices on the market.”

The backing of the Optus 4G Plus Network means that while not as established as the so-called telco ‘Big 3’, Vaya assures it offers the same excellent network coverage and quality of connection.

“We’re here to say that Aussies don’t have to choose between low prices and a great product when it comes to all-important consideration of a mobile service provider, and our price beat guarantee holds both us and the wider industry accountable for offering affordable mobile plans,” Snell added.
