Apple Music hasn’t been the success many hoped it would be. But according to Bloomberg that may change next month, with Apple preparing a big overhaul for the service.
The news wire reports that the Cook & Co. plan will give Apple Music’s interface a major facelift, integrate streaming and download services and “expand” its online radio presence. These changes, all described by “people familiar with the product who asked not to be identified”, are apparently set to be announced at June’s Worldwide Developer Conference.
Apple was late to join the streaming game, which has meant that it’s been playing catch up ever since the launch of its music service. It’s never really received any major updates since its launch, so there’s a chance that an overhaul could give it the shot in the arm that it so desperately needs — though that’s a rather large “could”. We’ll have to wait until WWDC to see if it’s part of Apple’s plan.
