Now that Spider-Man is officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, everyone’s favourite friendly neighbourhood arachnid is free to show up alongside any of Marvel’s movie heroes — he’s making his debut in a huge crossover movie, after all. But now it turns out that some of those stars will be appearing in the Spider-Man movie, too.
In a short interview with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige was quick to confirm that there will be some other big-name heroes tagging along in the as-yet-untitled Spider-Man movie, simply stating that’s that the appeal of the MCU in the first place:
He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth.
Tell that to the TV shows, Kevin.
But while it’s not the most surprising news, it’s nice to see confirmation that we’ll be seeing a few familiar faces alongside the new Spider-Man in his own movie. There’s been rumours for ages that have linked both Tony Stark and Captain America to playing big roles in the new Spidey’s first solo film, so they’re the obvious candidates right now. Who do you want to see with Peter Parker when Spider-Man swings into action in 2017?
