The New Movie From The Creator Of Mr Robot Sounds Terrifying And Fascinating

The hit USA show Mr Robot put filmmaker Sam Esmail on the map. His first movie, Comet, was criminally underseen, and now the success of the TV series has moved the needle on another one of his screenplays. It’s called Sequels, Remakes, and Adaptations.

A fun title to be sure, but the movie itself is none of those things. According to Deadline, the film is about “a young man [who] is told by an angel that all humans on earth are given 500,000 chances to live a complete and fulfilled life, but [then] finds out he’s already used up all but his last chance to finally get it right”. Yikes.

STX Entertainment picked up the rights to the film, which has been floating around Hollywood since 2008. At that time it was on the Black List, the annual list of the best unproduced screenplays. That year, films like Django Unchained were on the list, so that’s a lesson to any writers out there: never give up on a good idea. Eventually, anything could happen.
