The Flash Movie Could Co-Star Another DC Movie Superhero

Fox denies those recent New Mutants rumours. Peter Capaldi drops hints about the new Doctor Who companion. Game of Thrones will return to a tragically familiar locale. Plus, new teasers for Warcraft and Preacher, and a Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot could be on the cards. To me, my spoilers!

The Flash (Movie)

Speaking to Forbes, Deborah Snyder specifically name checks Ray Fisher’s Cyborg as playing a part in the Flash movie:

As you can imagine, when we get to the Flash movie, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher — who plays Cyborg — are kind of our youngest characters, and they have a really nice comradery with each other. Ezra is super funny, so the tone of that film will be very different than the rest of them.

It makes sense — we saw Cyborg being created at STAR Labs in Batman v Superman, but it looks like the Justice League’s youngest heroes will first appear together before we get the Cyborg movie.

The New Mutants

Fox has reached out to Nerdist to unequivocally deny the recent HitFix report that Maisie Williams would headline the movie as Scottish mutant Wolfsbane.

Sharknado 4

The movie has gotten a Star Wars inspired subtitle: The 4th Awakens. It will premiere July 31. [Coming Soon]

Doctor Sleep

Akiva Goldman will script the adaptation of Stephen King’s sequel to The Shining. [CBR]

Justice League vs. Teen Titans

The Justice League go toe-to-toe with the Legion of Doom in a new clip from the animated movie.

Warcraft

Khadgar espouses the joys of co-operation in world-saving, in this new TV spot:

Doctor Who

Peter Capaldi discusses the attitude of the new companion in a new video interview.

I think the companion has to be someone who’s not so impressed by the Doctor — she’s not an assistant, she’s not a servant, she can’t be that — she has to be someone who really says ‘are you sure that’s the right thing to do? What are you doing?’ and also doesn’t take him seriously.

Game of Thrones

A new set report from the Daily Mail offers little new details, but mentions filming happening at “the infamous hall where the Red Wedding massacre took place”, seemingly indicating a return to the Frey’s house seat, the Twins, in the next season. Also, Maisie Williams had several contact lenses to play blind Arya, which probably means Arya will be blind for a long period of time.

Outlander

Sam Heughan discusses the impact of last season’s events on Jamie in the next season:

Distance and time certainly is letting him heal, but he’s still plagued by it. He’s not really come to terms with [the rape], and that comes to a head at some point. He needs to find a way out, a way to deal with this, and the way he does will be revealed.

Sabrina The Teenage Witch

Melissa Joan Hart says that a reboot of the weird and wonderful supernatural comedy could be in the works:

It’s a meeting, hold on, take a step back… They’re throwing around ‘Clarissa’ and ‘Sabrina’ ideas, but it depends on who’s going to give up rights, who’s going to do it, how’s it going to be done. It’s a lot of politics — we are nowhere near doing anything.

Legends of Tomorrow

Here’s a new synopsis for “Last Refuge”:

RIP’S BACKSTORY IS REVEALED — The team is targeted by The Pilgrim (guest star Faye Kingslee), a deadly assassin who wants to erase the Legends from the timeline by killing their younger, non-superhero selves. As a protective countermeasure, Rip (Arthur Darvill) decides Sara (Caity Lotz), Snart (Wentworth Miller), Rory (Dominic Purcell), Professor Stein (Victor Garber) and Jax (Franz Drameh) need to kidnap their past selves first before The Pilgrim gets to them. Coming face-to-face with the younger versions of themselves proves to be both a physical and emotional challenge for certain members of the team who would rather forget their past. Rip tells them he has a refuge for their precious cargo — an orphanage that raises future Time Masters and where he himself grew up.

The 100

And here’s one for “Nevermore”:

RAVEN’S DARK SIDE COMES OUT — Alie (guest star Erica Cerra) forces Raven’s (Lindsey Morgan) dark side to come out, and Jasper’s (Devon Bostick) anger continues to grow. Meanwhile, Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) wrestles with her place in the world, and Monty (Christopher Larkin) is forced to make a split second decision.
