Google’s Cultural Institute Sends Street View Inside The Sydney Opera House

Google and the Sydney Opera House have teamed up to create a beautiful museum experience through the Google Cultural Institute, exhibiting one of the world’s most iconic — and busiest — performing arts centres in 360 degree video, as well as providing a home for hundreds of short snippets of video, audio and photos that give a snapshot of the Opera House throughout its life.

The Google Cultural Institute’s Sydney Opera House exhibition includes Street View imagery both around the outside and through the inside of the Opera House’s main Theatre Hall, and a total of 1721 artefacts on the website include both photo and video of performances as well as the building itself.

The new digital exhibition is live as of today at g.co/sydneyoperahouse, and is the largest single collection of media ever added to Google’s Cultural Institute project, which has partnerships with important institutions in over 70 countries and catalogues over 6 million historical photographs, artworks, videos and manuscripts.
