The Sydney Royal Easter Show Is Getting A Life-Sized Lego Tardis This Year

Although we might not be getting a new season of the hit time-travelling tv show this year, Doctor Who fans will still have something to look forward to at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Not only is the famed life-sized Lego Tardis making a surprise appearance but, for the first time ever, you’ll be able to pick up an exclusive Doctor Who showbag.

This won’t be the Lego Tardis’s first time in Sydney, having made an appearance here late last year for the Doctor Who festival — as well as hanging out at Bondi Beach for a few promo shots:

Having presumably visited ancient Rome and the edge of the galaxy in the meantime, the Lego Tardis has now landed outside the Showbag Hall on Riverina Avenue, where it’ll stay for the duration of the show (which, coincidentally, begins this Thursday). When you take your selfies with it there’s a hashtag — because there’s always a hashtag — which is #legotardis.

Of course all this is just added enticement for fans to go inside and buy the official Doctor Who showbag, which comes with more blue-and-white Tardis themed merch than I’ve ever seen in one place — featuring a Tardis design back pack, tin case, beanie hat, notebook and lanyard, and a Doctor Who tote bag, all for $26. Unfortunately though, it doesn’t contain its own life-sized Lego Tardis. It’s almost worth forgoing a Wonka showbag for (almost). Let’s be honest though, what self-respecting geek doesn’t love the chance to get their hands on some loot?
