Microsoft Has A New Surface Type Cover (With Fingerprint ID) For Australia

A new version of Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 Type Cover will be available in Australia from 15 March, and is open to pre-orders from today. It’s nearly identical to the previous version, but includes a fingerprint reader to add some sign-in security to older Surface machines like the previous Surface Pro 3.

The newly released Surface Pro 4 Type Cover features a “redesigned” mechanical keyboard, a larger glass trackpad, and is compatible with both Surface Pro 4 and Surface Pro 3 — allowing Pro 3 users access to Windows 10’s Hello personalised sign-in capability through the new fingerprint reader.

It’s super expensive, though — retailing at $249.95, it will be available from JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and commercial resellers. If you can’t wait, you can pre-order from today on the Microsoft store.
