When you’re buying your lunch today, you might want to take a moment and spend a little more. Gizmodo’s Lunch Time Deals posts point out any particularly good bargains for Aussie bargain hunters around the ‘net. Today, you can save yourself $500 off Alienware’s mid-range 15-inch R2 gaming laptop, driving its price below $2000.
The Alienware 15 R2 is a pretty gutsy rig for a laptop, even in the moderate spec that JB Hi-Fi is selling it at through this week’s Instant Deal. This particular Alienware 15 R2 runs an Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU, has 8GB of 2133MHz DDR4 and a 128GB M.2 SSD running Windows 10 with a 1TB mechanical disk for bulk storage. Its graphics card is an OK-but-not-amazing Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM; that’s not a huge issue though, especially when you think about the fact that this particular laptop has Alienware’s excellent Graphics Amplifier port, which lets you plug in an external GPU for desktop-grade gaming.
Considering this particular spec goes for $2499 on Alienware’s website, it’s not a bad bargain at all. To score yourself this deal, you’ll need to be signed up to JB Hi-Fi’s weekly Instant Deals newsletter — that gives you a unique coupon to use online or in-store. If you haven’t already signed up, you’ll get this week’s deal in your inbox when you do. [JB Hi-Fi]
