Every Frame Of This Van Gogh Movie Is An Oil Painting

Two years ago, a group of artists started a Kickstarter to make an animated movie about Vincent Van Gogh’s life, using artists to hand-paint every frame. Our more pessimistic commenters reckoned it would take 100 artists two to four years to make this a reality. Well, check the date, and watch this trailer.

Loving Vincent is still under production, although it appears the painting should be finished by August. The first trailer gives us a good look at what to expect, though, and it’s up to the standards you’d expect from Oscar-winning studios BreakThru Films and Trademark Films.
