Nerf’s Newest Rival Blaster Fires Two 113km/h Rounds With Every Pump

Originally unveiled at last year’s Toy Fair, Nerf is expanding its Rival line this year first with the fully-automatic KHAOS MXVI-4000 we brought you back in January, and now the pump action ATLAS XVI-1200 that fires two rounds at your target with every squeeze of the trigger.

Where as the $US70 ($99) KHAOS MXVI-4000 is Nerf’s premium Rival blaster offering for 2016, the $US40 ($56) ATLAS XVI-1200 is the more affordable option. But it’s not necessarily a bad thing that you have to manually prime the new ATLAS after every shot. The KHAOS needs a constant supply of six hefty D-sized batteries which might not always be easy to come by in the heat of battle. They also make for one heavy blaster.

The ATLAS XVI-1200 comes with a 12-round magazine, and 24 of the Rival foam balls because you’ll be chewing through ammo twice as quickly. And like the original Nerf Rival blasters, it will be available in red or blue so it’s easier to know who is on your team.
