Lunch Time Deals: 65 Per Cent Off Sony Hi-Fi Gear

When you're buying your lunch today, you might want to take a moment and spend a little more. Gizmodo's Lunch Time Deals posts point out any particularly good bargains for Aussie bargain hunters around the 'net. Today, Sony is clearing out some incredibly high quality home theatre gear for an amazingly good price.

Courtesy of the consistently great gadget price snooping of 'tightarse' on OzBargain, Sony's online store has some great prices on a whole range of hi-fi gear with damaged boxes. The 7.2-channel, 4K-compatible STR-ZA2000ES amp, for example, is down to $799 from $1799; the beautiful SS-HA1 speakers are $509 down from $1199.

Even seriously audiophile-grade speakers are on sale. SS-AC3 speakers, normally $3598, are down to $1499. The SS-NA8 centre speaker, once $3999, is down to $1298. If you're looking to build yourself a great home theatre or two-channel home audio package, today is the day to do it. Someone buy all of these before I do. [OzBargain]

Sick, iv been after a new receiver.
Damn, the RRP on the speakers is redonkulous, $3.5k for rear speakers, $6k for fronts and $5k for the sub!?!
My ears dont require THAT much love

Worth noting these are all box damaged items.

I bought a pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones in a "box damaged" sale a few weeks ago - they arrived in perfect condition.

I think "box damaged" is how Sony can get away with selling direct for around or less than they sell to wholesalers, retailers and distributors for. No one's going to complain if their 'box damaged' item turns up minty fresh.
