Sony’s Xperia Z5 Premium Is Out Now In Australia

If you want a new phone, you’re in luck. The latter half of 2015 has seen some awesome new phones come out, and Sony’s capping off the year with what may be the best phone of them all. You can buy Sony’s $1199, 5.5-inch, 4K-screened Xperia Z5 Premium right now in Australia.

Sony Xperia Z5, Compact And Premium: Australian Price And Release Date

The flagship Sony handset is available online, at Sony Kiosks and Sony Centre stores around the country, as well as at JB Hi-Fi. It’s the world’s first smartphone with a 4K Ultra HD display, with its 5.5-inch 3840×2160 pixel screen boasting a massive 801ppi pixel density, more than double the PPI of Apple’s top of the line iPhone 6s Plus. Being a TRILUMINOS display, too, Sony is using quantum dots to massively increase the screen’s colour gamut and the range of brightness it can display.

JB Hi-Fi is the only reseller of the Z5 Premium, and will carry the chrome finish; Sony itself will have chrome, gold and black. The Z5 Premium is only available in a 32GB internal storage capacity — no cut-price 16GB variants — and is one of the few high-end Android smartphones in 2015 with a microSD card slot, capable of boosting storage by up to 200GB.
