Cricket Australia Is Lifting Its Geoblock So You Can Stream The Test Internationally


Cricket Australia is finally coming around to the streaming revolution, both for Australian audiences and its international fans.

As part of the Nine Network coverage for today’s first test match vetween Australia and New Zealand, Cricket Australia is offering a subscription-based streaming option for a test series. The iOS App allows you to stream a free preview for a few minutes before shunting you to the payment screen. You can stream the match for a day for $5.99, or get a season pass for $29.99.

Normally, Cricket Australia would geoblock coverage. That is, restrict it so that only IP addresses within Australia would be able to view the coverage. Instead, Cricket Australia is lifting its geoblock almost entirely. Here’s the list of countries that can access the Cricket Australia stream:
