They came for your toyshelves. They came for basically every sort of random product you could think of, really. Hell, they came for your showerheads! Now, the heroes and villains of Star Wars are here to perilously dangle off the side of your beverages.
These cutesy little plastic figurines went on sale at the Japanese retailer Village Vanguard last week. They’re part of a line of popular capsule toys referred to as “Edge of the Cup”, which features a variety of characters from pop culture franchises or every day people posed in sitting or hanging positions that you then place over the edge of your glass.
I guess it doesn’t have to be a glass, really. You could put the little toys — featuring Darth Vader, Boba Fett, C-3PO, Yoda, R2-D2, a Stormtrooper, and a mystery bonus character — anywhere. On top of your PC! A window ledge! Your dashboard! I mean, Star Wars is already taking over what feels like the entire planet ahead of the release of The Force Awakens, so you might as well have little figures perched about in every nook and cranny to remind you of that, right?
The 6cm tall figures retail for about 530 yen each, or $6.12 — but if you want some, you’ll have to import them, as they’re currently only available at Village Vanguard.
