Filter Your Spotify Playlists For Easier Music Management

Playlists are at the core of the Spotify experience, but it’s all too easy to end up with an abundance of overlong ones — after all, once you start compiling the very best disco tracks from Spotify’s 30m+ track library it’s difficult to stop. Fortunately, the desktop apps include a simple playlist filtering option, though it’s pretty well hidden.

With a playlist on screen, just hit the old reliable Ctrl+F shortcut (or Cmd+F on a Mac) to filter through the tracks on screen. Your keywords are matched against song, artist, and album names. It’s not the most advanced filtering system we’ve ever seen, but it can help if you’re trying to find all the R.E.M. tracks that are in your Starred list.

Don’t forget that you can click on the column headings as well if you need to sort playlists by song name, artist, album title, duration, or the date tracks were added. With these sorting and filtering options are your disposal, you should be able to tame sprawling playlists much more easily.
