Sony’s Xperia Z4 Tablet Finally Gets Australian Price, Release Date

After being unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February, Sony is finally bringing its tiny, tiny Xperia Z4 tablet Down Under.

The Xperia Z4 tablet is bonkers thin. At just 6.1mm in thickness, one could almost describe it as wafer-esque. Just because it’s diminutive, however, doesn’t mean it can’t pack a processing punch.

It features an 10.1-inch, IPS 2560×1600 screen with 299 pixels per inch, a octa-core 64-bit 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM and a massive 6000mAh battery to keep it ticking over all day. It’s also IP68 certified for dust- and water-resistance. You’ll be able to immerse it in up to 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes without issue.

From today you’ll be able to pick up the Z4 Tablet’s 4G/LTE variant from Telstra in the black colour on a contract. If you want to buy it outright, you’ll be waiting a few weeks and you’ll need to shell out $888 to get it — but you’ll also get a $299 Bluetooth keyboard for free via redemption. Outright purchasers will only be able to purchase the Wi-Fi variant from Sony Kiosks, Sony Centres (if you can find any of those left) and Sony Online.
