Russia reportedly launched a digital attack against the Pentagon’s unsecured email system a couple of weeks ago, taking it down and disrupting the work of more than 4,000 US government employees.
CNBC reports that the Joint Chiefs of Staff email list was taken entirely offline to address the security problem, and that while the US can’t prove the attack came from a source within Russia’s governing body, it was “clearly the work of a state actor”. Same as it ever was. [CNBC]
