Thanks to a slip up by Newegg, we now have the last pieces of the Windows 10 puzzle. We already knew it would be a free upgrade for many users, but how much will it cost for everyone else?
Back in January Microsoft announced that Windows 10 would be a free upgrade for Windows 7, 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 users, for the first year. In March we found out that the OS would be coming some time in August.
After a snafu by Newegg, we now know Windows 10 arrive on the 31st of August and cost $109 US for the home version. Windows 10 Professional will set you back $149 US. That’s pretty similar to Windows 8, but it remains to be seen how much it costs in Australia.
You can currently grab Windows 8.1 for $149 AU though the Microsoft store (or a bit cheaper elsewhere) so we can expect something similar for Windows 10.
