Tesla Wants Hackers To Try Breaching The Model S

Every year, hackers from all over descend onto Las Vegas to try and hack the world. Everyone from banks to cloud technology companies come down to see how secure their products are, and now Tesla wants to give it a go. That’s right: hackers are going to get to have a crack at the Model S.

Boing Boing reports out that Tesla will be letting a few security engineers borrow a Model S to hack at the Defcon convention in August.

It’s kind of terrifying to think that cars can be hacked in the Internet Of Things era, which is why companies like Tesla are smart to find holes in their systems to patch, and intelligent hackers to hire to defend against the automotive blackhats. [Boing Boing]
