Spacewalk GoPro Footage Is The Best GoPro Footage

Spacewalk GoPro Footage Is The Best GoPro Footage

Down here on Earth, GoPros have been attached to humans jumping off buildings whilst on fire and stunt planes virtually on fire, but thanks to NASA, the coolest POV footage is some guy drifting around and not saying much for an hour.

Back in February, NASA astronauts Terry Virts and Barry Wilmore conducted an EVA to prepare the International Space Station to receive commercial crew vehicles, rather than Space Shuttles.

It was a fairly mundane mission (you can read all about the space re-wiring here), but with one difference: Virts was wearing a GoPro, meaning us poor mortals can relive the hour-long mission through the magic of moving pictures. Although I’ve seen countless still photos from the ISS, it’s still fascinating to see a real-time perspective flying over the Northern Hemisphere. [NASA/Internet Archive]
