TED Talks are kind of addictive, in a way. There are some fantastic ones, but our insatiable appetite for them has allowed them to grow beyond its capability to fill spots with people who have something useful to say. That’s something this comedian pokes fun at, in an effort to sound as smart as possible without actually saying anything.
After you see a few TED Talks, you start to notice the formula. The speakers are well trained, and having a samey formula is okay when the content is there. But comedian Will Stephen decided to imitate the tone, gestures, and format of every TED Talk ever, without actually saying anything — seeming interesting and smart may be more about style than you thought.
