How do you define a hero? It’s easy. It’s anyone who takes the time to scan all 636 pages of the 1982 JCPenney Christmas catalogue and posts those images on Flickr so that all of us who grew up in the ’80s can spend a Saturday night taking a nostalgic browse through our childhood.
The classic electronics and video games, including those miniature arcade cabinets and Merlin, are worth flipping through the pages for alone. But Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Lego and He-Man all make appearances.
The only classic toy line missing? The Transformers, because they unfortunately didn’t reach North America until 1984, two years after this catalogue was printed. But there are still pages and pages of classic toys you’ve probably forgotten that make up for their absence. [Flickr via Raiders of the Lost Tumblr via BoingBoing]
