Foxtel Will Simulcast Game Of Thrones Season 5 In Australia

If you’re a Game Of Thrones fanatic, you should subscribe to Foxtel. If you want to watch it live, that is. As of the show’s fifth season, which kicks off on April 13 — 32 days to go, guys — the Aussie pay TV provider will simulcast the show live and in line with the US as part of an event stretching across 170 countries around the globe.

Foxtel is one of the worldwide “Home Of HBO” channels, which means it gets a bit of preferential treatment and first-run broadcasts of a bunch of HBO’s shows, but it also means it gets to be part of the giant HBO simulcast happening with the Game Of Thrones season five premiere.

Foxtel will broadcast season five of the worldwide TV phenomenon Game of Thrones at the same time as the US in a global simulcast spanning 170 countries.

At 11am on Monday April 13, showcase subscribers can watch the Emmy® Award-winning drama’s all-new season of duplicity and treachery, nobility and honor, conquest and triumph — only on Foxtel.

Here’s the details: at 11AM on April 13, when Game Of Thrones broadcasts at 9PM EST 12/4 in the United States, it will also be broadcast on Foxtel at the same time, on the same Showcase channel that the other seasons have been on. Showcase is going to have another screening at 7:30PM on the evening of April 13 for prime-time viewers, everyone who’s actually at work during the day and staying away from Twitter spoilers.

Conveniently enough, a trailer for GoT season five was showed at the Apple Watch announcement event yesterday, so here’s that official video. Get hype:
