When it finally rolls out of the garage, Bloodhound SSC will hit a dizzying 1609km/h (1,000mph). But before it can do that, the team behind the vehicle needs to put it all together.

Looking more than a little like a kit for a model aeroplane, this is what Bloodhound SSC looks like in kit form. There’s a jazzy cockpit, super-strong wheels and an insane hybrid rocket to get it moving. Oh, and the driver, RAF Wing Commander Andy Green. Let’s just hope they have more than a craft knife and a tube of glue to assemble it all with.
