It’s no secret that the original Apple watch was nothing like the connected touchscreen wonder the company revealed last September. In reality, it looked more like something Swatch’s designers sketched on a discarded napkin, and back in 1995 it was actually given away to encourage Mac users to upgrade their operating systems.
But what started as a giveaway is now a much sought-after Apple collectible, so TechFast’s Jonathan Morrison brought his to CES and asked some of the tech media there their opinions on the company’s very first wearable. The verdict? Despite its lack of Bluetooth, LCD display, and voice control, it still stands as a fun tribute to Apple’s evolving design aesthetics. And the fact that you don’t have to charge it every night still puts it ahead of most smartwatches in terms of usability. [YouTube via Laughing Squid]
