When it comes time to decide what they want for Christmas, today’s kids have it easy. A few hours on the internet can result in thousands of links to toys, electronics, and video games. But if you grew up in the ’80s, your holiday hunt relied solely on department store catalogues. And over on Dinosaur Dracula they have highlighted some of the best toys from JCPenney’s 1985 Christmas catalogue.
If words like Gobots and Popoids are as foreign as ancient Greek to you, you’re probably not going to get much out of this except maybe some added appreciation for the internet. But it you’re a child of the ’80s, you’ll probably remember circling many of these to make sure mum and dad got the hint. And if you’re looking for more, there’s a whole other collection of toy scans from the same catalogue just waiting to distract you. [Dinosaur Dracula]
