This Shot-For-Shot Empire Strikes Back Remake Was Made By 480 Fans

Star Wars fans are a wildly devoted bunch, and 480 of them just had their goddamn dreams come true. The Empire Strikes Back: Uncut is a shot-for-shot remake of Episode V, composed entirely of 15-second clips filmed and submitted by (very) creative enthusiasts.

This is… a lot of fun! Each of the scenes are so, so different — live-action and illustration and puppets and stop motion, really polished (and really not) and totally silly — all seamlessly edited into a full-length feature. And it’s actually the second instalment in the experimental series; Episode IV was a huge hit a few years back, so mastermind Casey Pugh took on the monumental task of sifting through thousands of entries for this follow-up.

I haven’t watched the whole thing yet so am not sure if it would get a little tough (or tiresome to follow), but for anyone with a few hours to kill on this fine Saturday morning: Enjoy.
